Hey Bill, what a great photo. That colour of red sure stands out and showcases that caboose. A 24 footer eh ! The only shipping companies that also use 24' ft. containers is Matson an American shipping co. I think your picture here is another gift to the lovers of this site and the railroading fans of the world. A classic , heck just think how happy some people would b 2 c a red caboose like this at the end of a train. Thx, Bill

What a neat photo. I remember an NP caboose that sat in the parking lot of Wolf's Grocery along the old NP Prairie Line in Yelm just off Hwy 507. This gem looks great. I'm trying to figure out exactly where in Chehalis this is. That old switch stand looks like a Woodworth with small target used by Milwaukee Road in their yards.
