I was able to visit this station while on a trip to Budapest in May 0f 1991. At the time not many people spoke English as the Russians were completing their pull out of Hungary. I was able to communicate with one of the employees and I was permitted to walk out to the end of the platforms and take all of the photos I wished. I will have to find them and scan some for posting. The Statue of Liberty replaced a Russian monument that was on that hill in 1991. The Hungarians were very excited that freedom was at last coming in June.
