Back in the day when I was still driving a truck, if the opportunity arose to drive US Highway 101 shown in the background of the photo, I would get off Highway 101 and drive California 1 also as shown in the picture just to get a better view of the Pacific Ocean and the Union Pacific trains going by. At times, I would park my rig overnight somewhere along Highway 1 just to watch the ocean and the trains even better. I could have stayed there for a week but had deliveries to make. Sometimes, railfans asked if they could stand on my flatbed trailer to get better photo shots of the ocean and the trains. Times were good back then.
