Nice shot - great location, with the art museum in the background. Thanks for reminding us, and educating others with regards to how little high speed rail has progressed in the US despite a formidable start. The one example missing from this impressive line up is the United Aircraft Turbo Train, also built and in operation in the late 1960's and into the early 80's. They still, to this day, own the current North American speed record holder for a production built train at 170.8 mph December 20th, 1967 through Princeton Junction, NJ. Let me add that for you - here.

As for "Why doesn't America have bullet trains like in Europe?" US President Dwight D. Eisenhower's Federal Aid Highway Act of 1956, an Interstate Highway System that cost approximately $114 billion (equivalent to $530 billion in 2019), along with cheap gas and abundant prosperity probably led to European's complain, "Why doesn't Europe have great highways and offer such "freedoms" like in America?". People seem to (finally) get what they need when they (finally) need it.
