The 614's tender mentions the ACE 3000 project on it (create a modern steam locomotive which is why the 614 was being tested). Just imagine proposing that idea today to make a modern coal burning steam locomotive in the anti-coal era we live in today. The climate sensitive politicians would have a fit! Thanks for sharing.
