Honestly, UP really doesn't care that much about the gensets. They're under powered, as far as UP is concerned, and aren't really kept... well 'safe' from graffiti. Where other engines are kept in well lit, secure locations, these things get left out in the middle of no where for extended periods of time. Honestly, if UP could just scrap the lot of them, they likely would. Cali emissions standards are the only real reason they're still around.

Some Graffiti is pretty talented and artful stuff , but not on Locomotives or ANY Private Property ! It's Everywhere , not just Cali

Previous comments not withstanding - I would think UP would give this issue some attention for liability: a casual person can hardly identify this as being a locomotive and likely crash into it. Anyone in 'the know' care to comment: have there been car/train crashes with these "camouflaged" units? I'm curious
