I'm wondering, too, how things will differ with BNSF taking over the MRL operations. We look forward to the possibility of a revitalized Homestake pass operation, but I wonder what will come of the locals? I've noticed over the years BNSF isn't privy to locals that don't provide sizeable profits or that cause even a slight inconvenience. There are times I wonder if they forget just how rail traffic is generated as they want to focus on high volumes and long haul?

I see a RadioShack sign , I thought they all but disappeared . Be interesting to see what becomes of former Rail Link operations once BNSF engulfs MRL

Whenever me and my mom drove down Paradise Valley into Yellowstone when we lived in Montana, we could see all sorts of remnants of the Yellowstone Park Branch, ranging from the right of way itself, to these weird faded pink poles sticking up from the ground. Screw Burlington Northern for ripping up this beautifully scenic line instead of selling it off as a potential tourist railroad!
