I unfortunately see a brand spankin' new Dash 9 there, sad. What's with the locomotives on the track?

Always intriguing to see a unit being scrapped with fairly fresh paint (2nd CN locomotive). I wonder what catastrophic failure led to its demise.

Dash 9's haven't been new since 2005 and there aren't any in this shot. The CN dash 8's haven't been repainted since they were purchased six or seven years ago. The freshest paint is obviously the UP dash 8 at lower left, next to the CSX dash 8. It was repainted, and put back into storage before being sold back to GE.

Sorry Dan Blink, I was referring to the far left CN unit as having the apparent fresh paint. Can you identify this model? Thank you for your insight.

The far left CN unit is a C40-8.
