I didn't know Katy still had F-units as late as 1979, especially that F-3A unit at the other end. F's were all but gone from C&O/B&O by 1974-75, at least back where I lived at the time. Thanks for taking this photo and sharing it with us.

I grew up with the sound of the unturbocharged EMD 567 and other than live steam there are few sounds sweeter. I can still remember these in Barringer red dragging a freight into Wichita Falls in 1968, leaving a thin trail of black and blue smoke and music over the prairie.
