My father worked MOW for Southern Railway out of Meridian, Mississippi. As a child growing up in the late sixties and into the seventies, I was used to seeing the black paint scheme of the Southern. On a trip through Louisiana, I got to see my first KCS units in the white paint and was amazed. It just stunned me that anyone would paint a locomotive white but, I liked it! Has been a while since I have seen this scheme. Thanks for going out and getting the shot.

Mr. Vaught, is the date correct? I didn’t know there are still white KCS units around.
