Great shot!!! Like many Milwaukee units, too bad one of these wasn't saved! I bet it sounded great!! Keep the Milwaukee shots coming Bill!

Looking at this unit head on, you'd think it was an Alco "Century" road unit. Got my memory banks searching for record of the Milwaukee ever owning one. Nice shot. I wish, too, one had been preserved. I think they might have been put in the scrap line after they brought in the MP15's despite their light weight being handy on the light rails of Minnesota. That's probably why none made it. I think once people realized the Milwaukee might not exist after the 1977 bankruptcy did they think of such preservation. I was told the reason alot of engines suddenly had missing heralds on their sides through 1978 was employees were pilfering collectible railroad property, including the "FM" builder plates off the H10-44's as at that time, nobody was sure there would be any Milwaukee Road at all.
