My usual sources have that unit pegged as being rebuilt from an SD45 (GN 422/BN 6452 built 7/1968) by Morrison-Knudsen. Doesn't seem to make sense since an SD45 usually retained its body complete with flared radiators when they did "SD40-2" rebuilds of them, but it also doesn't make sense for CSX to have an ex-Conrail SD40 back in 1993. Scratching my head.
