Fancy piece of Baldwin locomotive shown here. Looks like an all-weather cab and a unique looking feed water unit on top of the smoke box (right next to the bell). Thanks for sharing this gem.

The detail and clarity in these old shots is amazing. I don't know about Baldwin, but the Lima company photographer used an 8x10 inch view camera. Not exactly a "point and shoot" camera! The lack of grain in this photograph makes me think 8x10 was probably a standard.

These late Northerns from the late 30,s on were great looking locomotives.
