That's why I bought my drone. No train photo in the world is worth getting killed over. A drone is the lens you use when the shot requires a dangerous climb, trespassing on private land, or a boat you don't have. Glad you bailed on the descent. If you'd fallen, the bears would likely have found you before any rescuers would.
