The new tangerine & grey VANDE BHARAT Express has a tight schedule to keep. So to ease the pressure, a pairing trainset is added so that this pairing trainset does the return journey from Thiruvananthapuram Central in case the other gets delayed. Moreover this arrangement gives ample time for maintenance for both trainset at Kochuveli yard. The second trainset happens to be in the usual blue and white livery and consist of 8 cars.
