The curve's super elevation leads to quite a high first step up for passengers. During the early (1974-75, Erie Lackawanna) era of my railroad career, I was often called from the extra board to the head brakeman assignment on this line. On occasion, I would assist passengers struggling up the steps from the low-level platforms.
