Clever shot Mr. Railfan. Are we ever going to see this beautiful PA run again?
I guess the Nickel Plate R.R.had the trucks painted the same shade of blue to save money.
I think silver trucks like Santa Fe would look a lot better.

As I understand it, the upgraded V12-251 already runs and was fired up a few times back in Portland. The main problem is an aggressive army of electrical-system gremlins that has proven difficult to defeat. Since I saw this back in May, however, the Alco experts of the D-L have been working hard to bring this unit back to full working order. There has been no official word regarding projected timelines for the completion of that work, but most expect this remarkable diesel to be back on the mainline at some point later this year.
