Still aren't any wires...the Cos Cob draw bridge actually has a gap in the wire, and the trains just coast across until they re-connect to the wire after they cross it. Of course, this does cause some "situations," I recall one Amtrak train encountered an unexpected stop signal, and by the time he stopped he was, you guessed it, marooned on this span with his pantograph reaching out and finding nothing. A rescue diesel had to be sent out...
