After picking up grain cars from CSX at Aberdeen AC&W 6918 and 6939 climb the grade out of town as they head for Candor.

AR 300 is a GP18 which was built new for the Aberdeen & Rockfish in 1963, and is still in continuous service for them 60 years later.

ACWR's 600 crew slowly pulls out of Aberdeen after a direct handoff with CSX's G91116. With only two CSX GEs on the inbound consist, an SD40-3 pair was added for the hills on the way to Candor.

ACWR's Candor local departs Aberdeen on the return trip up the Sandhills Sub with a pair of SD40-3s.

ACWR 200 slowly cuts through Aberdeen with a train for the CSX interchange below town. The conductor protects the crossing as some other fans watch their passage.

Built as Conrail 6473 in 1978, this CSX SD40-2 rests between assignments on the ACWR.
