A long Nashville, TN to North Little Rock, AR freight drags through Kentucky St after interchanging from CSX to UP about half a mile back.

From left to right, UP MNVNL 02, BNSF H MEMTOA1 02 & CN RJY30 02 are all visible. I was happy to catch a Death Star SD70 on this transfer, returning from NS.

This was GE's first production locomotive. Originally painted in black with yellow chevrons, it eventually got repainted in the mandarin orange and white.

Frisco had four SD38-2 locomotives, two with dynamic brakes and two without. In 1980 the BN took over and a paint out and renumbering occurred. Here it is in its short livery, but I think the Fris... (more)

164 Phase IV heritage locomotive leading the "City of New Orleans" train 59 was a welcome surprise on a morning in late November.

Z-194 arrived from Homewood, IL with the Wisconsin Central heritage unit leading on a beautiful October morning and also had an ex-CITIRAIL unit which would lead 195 back up later that evening.

The CN transfer job got a fresh crew while an inbound BNSF manifest crossed over the Mississippi River into Memphis, TN from Arkansas.

CSXT SW1500 awaits her next assignment in Leewood Yard in Memphis Tennessee. She was later painted in the CSX YN3 paint. She has since been retired. I shot this in 1999 on print film.
