With the Audley Cliffs loaming in the back, an Atlanta, GA to Los Angeles, CA stack train slowly grinds up the 1.5% grade of Yampai Hill as it prepares to stop at the summit of the hill.

A westbound grain train is plodding up the steep grade from Pica to Yampai summit. After surmounting the grade in another mile, it will be downhill for over a hundred miles to Needles.

In summer '17 another of a parade of westbound BNSF intermodal trains was climbing the east slope of Yampai Hill near Yampai, AZ. on a beautiful afternoon.
