To someone from "the" coalfields of SW Virginia SOO line hauling coal in southern Indiana is just plain strange but here it is a mine run with one of the rare original-SOO GP-40s.
SOO Line in southern Indiana seems almost as wierd as BN in Pensacola but this was a great little terminal to visit. I was just there again shooting Indiana Railroad. It's now Hiawatha Yard.
Three days left as Latta, and the full lineage of this place is seen here: MILW/SOO 2041 in background, CP 5420, and INRD 6006.
Could be better, could be worse. A good cleaning would have helped.
Milwaukee heritage showing through at what will soon be known as Hiawatha Yard.
