Just after sunset, Amtrak Special Train with VIA stainless steel equipment speeds along the shores of Lake Champlain as the sun sinks behind the Adirondack mountains.
After morning track work in the area is completed the dispatcher clears CP 930 to head on south along Lake Champlain, with NS power up front.
The Adirondack skirts along Lake Champlain a mile south of Port Henry behind one of the the D&H's iconic rebuilt PAs.
