Criticism aside, it is still very cool to see what these queens of steam look like undressed. Here is a look at C&O 1309's firebox inside the shops at the WMSR during a recent tour.
Workers continue to remove parts from the boiler of the 1309. The 1309 will be a great addition to steam in the east once she is complete.
