11 years ago this scene was normal, now both locomotives are no longer hauling trains.

In a scene repeated countless times over five decades, a GG-1 hustles south through Edison, NJ, with a Washington-bound Northeast Corridor train. Amtrak 904's fireman gave a wave as they sped by.

Toaster coming into Wilmington.

Old and new. As the year moves along less and less AEM-7s are in active service with Amtrak. On the other hand, the new Viewliner baggage cars are entering service in full force.

On a cold evening in Aberdeen, Amtrak 904 approaches with a typical regional. Soon, the AEM-7's will meet the same fate as the E60's. Get your pictures while possible...

Before you can see the train, you hear a roar. Then out of the storm at 100 mph with whistle blaring a regional slams through. Amtrak was the only thing that stayed moving.
