The night gas flies west through Plains under the classic NP cantilevers.

With the sun about to dip behind the mountains, we squeeze out some last light with this loaded coal train heading westbound with a trio of dash 9s for power.

After a 10 mph slow order for several miles, the train is finally back up to speed as they head west through Perma. Not visible in the photo is a MOW truck following on the tail of this train.

After picking up a helper set in Livingston, MRL's Laurel to Bozeman manifest throws everything it has at the eastern slope of Bozeman Pass. This train is best to shoot around the summer solstice ... (more)

On a bright and clear summer morning in Western Montana, MRL's Livingston helper set pushes on the rear of a BNSF grain train making the 1.8% climb up Bozeman Pass.

MRL 355 leads the Laurel to Bozeman turn on a nice afternoon. Its the last SD45 active on the MRL roster.

The "night gas" arrives into Thompson Falls for the twice daily job dropping off tanks at the fuel facility at Pipeline.
