My first and only visit to the D&SNG (so far) we caught one of the returning trips to Durango.
A really nice looking caboose that can be rented by small groups and towed at the end of an excursion train
Taken just after they "dumped the fire" for the day, you can see the coals in the pit under the engine
A picture is said to be worth a thousand words, you pick your thousand
The most photographed part of the line, the HIGH LINE, and is it awesome to see
A very nice view of the Animas River beside the train as 481 puffs away
A beautiful location with the rock slide on one side and the river on the other
Some of the best scenary around
Blowing the steam over the river
What a great view from the High Line
Climbing toward Rockwood
Passing the water tank at Hermosa
The first train out passes the Iron Horse Inn
DSNG 482 on the first train out of Durango
