Bakerspatch

Always a good mix of diversity when visiting BNSF. I hope the new units don't arrive too soon, so we can keep from just seeing a sea of orange and black nikes.

Some local power sports very patriotic colors near the old SP station in Bakerspatch. The fairly new PR30B genset trailing has been altered by taggers.

With BNSF being short on power, some colorful lash ups are even more common these days with two Citirail units being present along with the former Santa Fe GP60m, BNSF 120.

SJVR 1829, a rare GP28, sits at the west end of the BNSF Bakersfield Yard with a number of other units.

Power short BNSF has made for some interesting lashups again, as 2 red and silver's lead a H1 under the signal bridge at Magunden as it leaves Bakersfield for the trip over Tehachapi Pass.

Some GE power brings up the year of a manifest approached Bakersfield. The soon to be dismantled cantilever signal bridge at Sandcut can be seen in the background.
