Fresh from the paint shop, Huntington Locomotive Shops load test unit shows off her new YN3 paint. I feel pretty safe saying this will be the only SD45-2 ever painted YN3!
About eight years earlier, Kevin Piper photographed this engine at Barr Yard in Illinois. It looked a lot better then, Huntington appears to be the end of the line for this old Geep.
A real rarity on CSX, I believe there were only two NW2s on the roster at this time.
SD45s didn't last very long on CSX, the most recent photo on this site of one in service was taken in 1989. This one is stored at Huntington, along with two GP16s.
CSX's "stealth" paint scheme was one of the ugliest ever, and at first I thought that's what was being worn by the 8960. Photo comments indicate that it's actually wearing a coat of primer.
