142 has just crossed the main Limerick - Dublin road and the level crossing can just be seen rising in the background. With the load of shale it powers up the bank en route to the Cement works.

Not even the nosie from the 141 class disturbs the crow sitting on the fence. The train here consist's of shale for the Mungret Cement works outside Limerick city.

Engine 142 is seen here on the daily Shale traffic with empty hoppers en route to Kilmastulla siding to load the Shale. 16 of the class remain to date and are slowly being withdrawn.

Though #142 may have been built in China a mere eighteen years ago, this scene could easily depict a mixed freight train on a rural branchline in the 1940s.
