Trona Railway SD40T-2 #2005 leads a train of loaded soda ash toward the Union Pacific interchange at Searles, as it passes the Westend chemical complex in Trona.

The Trona Railway begins their day in the late afternoon with the temps pushing 112+ which really didnt seem to phase the crew with how efficient they were working.

On the return from Searles, half the power was cut allowing this former Southern Pacific tunnel motor to lead the empty string of hoppers back to Trona.
