Amtrak needed a little help from CSX on this day
Famed Amtrak Autotrain only a few minutes down rolls into Volusia County from Putnam near Silver Lake in Seville.
A little help from your friends, a CSX motor gave 53 an assist amazingly only an hour or so late. A tie replacement and other MOW work is underway on the A line.
Amtrak unfortunately has had some issues of late and a failure of one of the P40's sent CSX to the rescue. Amazingly, 53 was only an hour or so late despite this issue.
Due to the first schedule change with Auto Train since Amtrak took it on in 1983, the departures are now an hour later giving us a daylight view.
