The pointless arrow, aka the chevron logo, is still displayed above the entrance to the first station just north of Washington DC. Being protected from the elements, it has aged rather well.

Last trains. The 2010 Blizzard starts to intensify as Metrorail begins to shut down all above ground routes due to heavy snow.
As the February 2010 blizzard begins to wind down, an HHP 8 slogs out of New Carrollton past a snowbound Metrorail facility. Amtrak manged to keep running in this storm.
