After a snow storm easter morning here in Goderich the cab windows of 1401 have iced over making a neat effect. The engine is in for some control stand repairs as you can see.

GEXR 581 crests the 3% hill from the Salt Mine with 6 salt loads, the max that this trio could haul up the grade.
After leading 581 from Stratford and setting off grain empties at the Goderich grain elevator, the 1401 climbs back onto the 3% grade before easing into the Sifto Salt Mine.

This unit is presently working everyday between Stratford & Goderich Ontario. Plans to bring its sister 1400 are under way.
