3049 and 3068 are working as mid-train helpers, cut in about 3/4th of the way back on this loaded ore train.

As tall as this bridge is, the structure's apparent size is diminished by the even taller Joe Montana Bridges on the Mon Fayette Expressway.

Detouring due to the wreck of Q358 at Koppel.Pa on the Pittsburgh Sub, Q261 rolls west onto the Mingo Creek Trestle the highest on the W&LE,the former Pittsburgh & West Virginia Railroad

This was one of the nicest lashups I ever saw on a W&LE grain train. Unfortunately, it was also the last grainer that I photographed since this traffic is not currently running to Hagerstown.

Emerging from the endless southwestern Pennsylvania woods, 416 eases onto Mingo Creek Viaduct.

Mingo Creek is the tallest bridge on the former P&WV, but the Mon Fayette Expressway crosses the valley on an even higher span.
