One of FCC's MLWs heads westbound tonnage on Cuba's main east-west route. We were en route between steam operated sugar lines and came across this unplanned and most welcome encounter.

This locomotive was manufactured by MLW (Montreal Locomotive Work), and Ferrocarriles de Cuba acquired fifty of them between 1975 and 1976. They still remain as one of the best locomotives in Cuba... (more)
