Spirit of '76' 1976. The second BN "Bicentennial" 1976, nee-GN 323/BN 9853/6397. Renumbered back to BN 6397 in January 1979. Only 20 SDP40s built - six for GN and fourteen for NdeM.
A pair of TFM's lead a short mixed freight to the red board at Godfrey. The leader being an SDP-40. The brakewheel notched short hood seems a bit of an oddity.
Now with RRC 11 leading, this Squaw Creek local has just started its southbound trip back to Yankeetown, Indiana as the engineer delights the fans watching this maiden run in the full Squaw Creek ... (more)
A very rare EMD (ex GN I think) on the point of the M train today. Regular Merchandise - Dilworth, MN - Lincoln, NE.
Grey was at this time a strange color to Mexican Railroading. SDP40 1321 wears the new colors amid a sea of blue, from the diesel shop to sister locomotives not yet repainted.
