A patched ex-CNW "bandit" leads an Oakland bound Z-train north on the Coast Sub after heading west over Altamont and over the Centerville line.
I am pretty sure this is the only natural tunnel on the doubletrack Cal-P mainline between Oakland and Sacramento. Shot shows westbound Capitol#544 exiting Tunnel #? at Rodeo.

With CTC installed south of CP Strong in East Oakland, an Amtrak Capitol scoots on by running leftside meet style as the UP4397 turns into the sun approaching Jack London Square.
Banking UP9803 north passes some afternoon-posed UP and Amtrak units at West Oakland Yard.

An almost deserted Embarcadero Street at Jack London Square greets the GECX8678.
Running through the station at Jack London Sq. (OKJ). Its a good thing that UP nose herald has his blind-fold on because that sun must be blinding!
At CP Strong the ex-SP8494 takes the curve into Jank London Sq. This front nose angle into the sun brings back a lot of SP memories. The Espee lives!
