The yard was a rather ragtag place in a bad sign of town but we never had any trouble taking pictures.

Each one of these appeared to be a little different and were prized catches.

Back when Montgomery had GM&O, CofG, WofA, SCL and L&N this was such a great place to watch trains. The black scheme was getting rather rare so this was a good catch.

A clean looking mother slug set sit on the east side of CSX’s yard in Montgomery while a Q681’s train begins to depart the capital city for a trip along the Dothan Sub.

Looks like someone got a little carried away with the blue paint on the long hood of this CSX locomotive.

Its nose bashed in and its 567s removed for installation into RS-1s, GM&O 101A has just about run out of time.
