Just after sun peeked over the mountains, a northbound traverses Iona Island trestle en route to a meet at M.P. 43.

The sun just peeked over the mountain and lit the fall colors at Bear Mountain. And [CSX] 3021 leads a south bound across the trestle.

They'll go south along the Hudson when they go...SD70MAC and standard cab C40-8 duck under the Bear Mountain bridge on a fall morning that would be hard to beat.

Until a friend of mine caught AC4400CW #1, I did not realize single digited CSX locomotives were numbered such. Oh well, a nice day along the Hudson. The second unit is SD40-2 #8059. I wonder if... (more)

Amtrak 703 hustles a Empire Service train North along the Hudson river.

On its northbound trek up the Hudson River Valley, an intermodal hustles across the trestle at Iona Island and past the changing leaves basking in the early morning light.
