Went wide here as pellets for Two Harbors roll down the hill. A few miles later engine troubles would bring this train to a crawl and they would limp into Allen Jct. to await rescue.
After shooting the shiny GEVO on the E-Rail, I was rewarded with interestingly numbered clean units #2853 and #2835
For years the DMIR #400 has escaped my glass in good light and leading, but I finally shot the class unit of the Missabe SD40-3's as #400 and sister #406 lug tac empties back to U-Tac for loading.
Missabe maroons really looks good as it catches the very last rays of sun on a nice February day as they charge north through Saginaw.

After the coldest recorded winter in history, temps were at a balmy 41 degrees today as veteran tunnel motor #405 leads limestone empties back to Proctor.
Even though the docks are silent, taconite still moves 24/7 in Two Harbors.
Although delays shadowed in my other shot, its still nice to be able to shoot maroon in 2014, nearly 10 years after the CN takeover.
Elephant style motors charge towards town with 123 cars in tow.
