Around 11 am Connecticut Southern was heading south down Amtrak's Springfield Line when it derailed about 4 cars.

Slack ran in and the wheel fell off as it jumped the frog. Track 3 was still operational as Amtrak P42s cleared by less than a foot. Check #111597.

That ain't good...CSOR derails at CP 98 around 11:00 AM, fouling both CSX tracks. First train to pass on the CSX was 6 hours later being a 2 hour late Amtrak 447. Check #111598.
