At sunrise on a cool winter morning, Friends of the Rail's ex- South African Railways class 19D 4-8-2 no. 2650 is shrouded in steam at the club's Capital Park depot.

With the rising sun setting the Wyoming sky on fire, an eastbound Union Pacific stack train is about to knock down the signals leaving Rawlins, bound for Cheyenne.
