I am rather amazed when I think about how long ago it was when Baldwin folded. These were so rare that finding one operational was amazing, and that was forty years ago!
Built in 1971 this is a SD38DC which the DT&I only had two numbered 253-254.. The other SD 38's they had were built in 1969 numbered 250-252.

One thing I like about this hobby is watching the changes. DCs, a different plant in the background and frequent coal trains, things of the past. Nice string on a southbound coal train.
Former B&O series was way outnumbered in the Chessie System by GPs, though I have never figured out why.
