The Vancouver section of the Rocky Mountaineer crosses over the Thompson River at Lytton.

After five chases down the Thompson River Canyon to the Lytton Bridge we finally get a shot in the sun. That's how the game is played. Our reward was a BC Rail B39-8E as the second unit.

A ballast undercutter with 4 hoppers and a caboose is parked on the bridge at Lytton. It was there for over an hour between ballast dropping duties, in a perfect spot for photography!

Two SD40-2's are westbound north of Lytton beside the Thompson River with grain and sulpher loads.

CP 9583 and 8789 lead 199's train west on CN's Ashcroft Sub, while I travel east aboard the RMR on CP's Thompson Sub.

The Empress and her train are heading east along side the Thompson River towards Kamloops. On the opposite side of the river is Canadian National's Ashcroft Sub

This was a rare find, at least for me. SD40-3 GTW 5955 is the trailing unit on this Westbound grain train as they cross over the Fraser River and Canadian Pacific's Thompson Sub
