The 22A rumbles past the old Freight Depot in Abingdon, VA

Crewmembers squint to see the signal at the west end of the short Abingdon siding at around 6:52PM. A little detour on the way to Financial Peace class. It's in the budget.

NS 38Q picks up speed through Abingdon after getting a green signal when MOW got on the siding at Litchfield, the east end of the 3,743 foot siding in Abingdon.

NS 22A kicks up some dust from the fresh ballast as it creeps down the line under a 25 MPH slow order.

NS 22A splits the signals at MP NB 396.8 as they creep at 25 MPH due to a slow order between MP NB 393.3 and MP NB 400.3. The normal speed limit for the 22A in this area is 60 MPH.

The special is in siding waiting for west-bound 722 unit empty coal hoppers to come by. Then it will get on up to Roanoke to be part of Train Day on Saturday.
