Beginning the final leg of my trip home, I began on the east end of the Abbeville sub where Q663 passes through town, lighting up the idle SD40-2 and the aging depot under a big sky.
Rumbling outside of the city limits, the crew of the PDRR 1764 approaches Revel's Barbecue Center just to the east. Yes... it's a barbecue center. I've never seen one either.

Southbound, and rounding the leg of the wye at Hamlet, the 4513 leads a manifest freight towards the yard to the east.
"So the sun, shines upon them...." at Palos, AL, where BNSF trains bring the black-diamonds of the west to Plant Miller, the largest coal-fired power plant in the Alabama Power system.
After attending a BNSF Citizens for Rail Security meeting, we were able to shoot some of the power in the yard. While it was a crummy day, this gem was parked behind the office in some good light.... (more)
