NS 289 rounds the connection onto the New Castle District form the Huntington District at Hugo on Fort Wayne's Southeast side.

The Conrail heritage unit leading the NS 289 takes to the Spencerville siding. The train will receive a crew change in Fort Wayne, but not before waitng in the siding for nearly three hours.
