We where glad to see these ex-CN units show up here in the USA. Another Arkansas Shortilines carrier, Oachita Railroad has a couple also. Apparently neither can afford paint.
D&R 18 sits under the Hwy 7 bridge, it appears to be stored.
Pretty much as built. In looking at rosters I've noticed how the SW-7s were relatively unusual compared to the 9s.
Marked as a real oldy by its two step slope the cab, this little goat is appeared to be occasionally active.
D&R 9 is the oldest locomotive on the MCRWY Museum's roster. It was built in 1884 as New Orleans & North Eastern #232. It needs boiler work and a new tender before it gets rolling again.
Dardanelle & Russellville #9 at the Mid-Continent Railway Museum in June of 1976. #9 served as the main duty engine in the 1960s and 1970s until she was sidelined with a tired and leaking tender.
Asked for permission to photograph this and D&R 1143, and was given the run of the place! Didn't know they had these until passing over the yard on the highway
