Rock Island train departing South Chicago yard Pullman Jct

Late on a winter afternoon, a Great Western train with empties for the mills in Lakeview heads north on the Lake County Railroad.

CBRY 714 is switching in front of the former Rock Island depot in Council Bluffs. The carrrier stores cars in remnants of the former Wabash and MILW yards in CB.

CNW's Eden Turn, powered by a pair of Geeps, switches the yard in Fond Du Lac, WI in March of 1988. The train, led by CNW 4467, will soon head south back to Butler, WI.
